Early “Unfiltered” Drawings

In 2012 I connected with artists on Flickr, who convinced me to make a Tumblr. Initially, I just wanted to blog photos I took, but a friend of mine saw a couple of my drawings and encouraged me to share them with other people. That’s how I ended up posting a “mood drawing” a day on Tumblr (I made about 10 of these a day and picked the magical ones). Most of these are Ink and Pencil on paper.

Sometimes I scanned them and adjusted the levels in Photoshop so they’d float on white and sometimes I just photographed the original drawing with a smartphone and edited with photo apps. Most of these simple drawings were done on the same notepad on the go while I was living in Berlin.

The JPGs below are the “original pieces”. They live as digital traces on the internet, and you can find them on Google Search words like “Saskia Keultjes.” I prefer the low-res files over high quality scanned files. Here is a best of selection:
